Prior to show day there is a ton of work that goes into my animals, including weekly shag/leg work (washing, blowing, brushing and wrapping), we do major clipping/fitting as well. Washing is always fun...sometimes a chore. We have to blow our animals completely dry and ensure their hide is moisturized.
I place my lambs on the stand several times a week. This not only where I take care of the leg shag and wrap legs but I also work on their stance, place their feet properly for showing and work on stretching and elevating their head/neck.
My show lambs are kept in a stall in our barn and it is important that they get out daily for exercise. This is Bouncy and Bauser, they like to go on walks together.
On March 10th, 2025 my registered Hampshire Ewe, Piglet, had our first lamb. I plan to raise this lamb to show this upcoming year.
In January 2025 I competed with my Natural lamb at the Triple Crown Showdown in Lincoln, CA.
In March 2025 I took two lambs to the Northern Exposure Livestock Jackpot in Corning, CA. I competed in Market and Showmanship classes.
I would like to invite you to the Dixon May Fair and Livestock Auction. There is one day of sales at the Dixon May Fair Grounds on Saturday, May 10th at 11:30am. Not only will I be selling one of my market lambs but there will be several of my fellow showmen selling an array of species. Support from buyers such as yourself mean allot to myself and my fellow showmen. The proceeds I gain from the sale of my market lamb will go to my next year market project for the Dixon May Fair, which will again be a market lamb.
Piglet, my registered Hampshire ewe and her baby, Piggy...born March 10, 2025. Piggy will be my future show lamb at the fall jackpots.
Here is the judge at Northern Exposure Livestock Jackpot placing my lamb, Bouncy, second and discussing the differences between my lamb and the first place lamb.
Love that we get to do this with family! Here I am with my mom, cousins and aunt.
This is me and Bouncy and Bouser waiting for our turn to show.
On Sunday I grilled burgers for our group.
